Arrival

You will be met on arrival by your travel host, that is me at Julius Nyerere International Airport.

Transfer

Travel in style to your hotel. From the airport to the hotel enjoy the scenes of the hustle & bustle of Dar es Salaam, one of the fastest growing cities in Africa. 

Your Accommodation

The Hyatt Regency or The Serena Hotel will be your accommodation for your stay in Dar es Salaam. Both have unique features, The Hyatt overlooking the Port and Serena overlooking a golf course.

Highlights


Depending on your time of arrival, a quick trip to Bagamoyo is a worthwhile excursion taking in the flavours of bygone era. The City has some very nice eating spots to try out like the Mediterrano or Karambezi overlooking the sea.

Afternoon


Spend the afternoon on a City tour or on a sand bank which you can access by 1 20 minute boat ride. Or enjoy the scenery from Coco beach and the surrounding hotels.

Evening

Its either dinner at the hotel as both have excellent dining options or an evening of fun at the Cape Town fish market.

Day 2 to 5 - The Selous

Highlights: Fly Camping and Nature walks in the wild

Transfer

After a hearty early morning breakfast we depart for the Airport for our scheduled flight to The Selous.

Arrival In Selous

Met at the airstrip in Steiglers. Travel in open drive safari 4wd game drive vehicles to your luxury accommodation.

Your Accommodation

The Mivumo River Lodge or the Beho Beho will be your accommodation for your stay. Both will have fly camping options to experience. Both have stunning vistas from the rooms/tents.

Highlights

Fly camping, walking in the wild with an armed ranger, dinner under the stars, river cruises and boat rides. Sundowners on the sandbanks of river Rufiji in the company of crocodiles and hippos is a mesmerising spectacle. Watching wildlife like Elephants coming for a drink of water on the banks of the river, birdlife and the occasional wild cat will make your day.

Evenings

 

By the campfire enjoy your evenings catching on the days exciting adventures. Dinner is served by the campfire when fly camping. The lion sleeps tonight, and if not you will definitely hear the roar in the still of the night.

Day 3 to 9 - Zanzibar

Highlights: Beach, Sun and Beach

Transfer

After an early morning breakfast take a game drive to Stieglers Airstrip from where you will depart by Air to the Spice Island of Zanzibar.

Arrival

On arrival in Zanzibar you will be met by your hotel host and driven in luxury to the Residence Zanzibar.

Your Accommodation

The Residence is located on the east coast side of Zanzibar. It is famed for its service excellence. Each villa has its own private pool. There are several restaurants to choose from for your dining experience.

Highlights

Cycling along the palm fringed resort from your villa to the restaurants, beach, jetty, pool bar and reception are the norm here. Each guest receives his/her personal bike on arrival. Water sports is part ofyour stay, enjoy catamaran, windsurfing, canoeing or snorkelling. For the more adventurous diving is awesome as well as swimming with the Dolphins

Evenings

Moonlit diners on the beach, cocktails watching the sun go down, visits to the old town of Zanzibar. Make your own memories, perhaps dinner on a dhow...

Day 10 - Return Home

Highlights: Fly Camping and Nature walks in the wild

Transfer

After a lazy breakfast taking in your final moments of the sun, sand and sea, depart the Resort for the Zanzibar International Airport for your onward flight home.

Visit the Ngombe National Park famous for its chimpanzees. This scenic adventure takes you on a boat ride from Kigoma. The Mbali Mbali lodge is a wonderful spot to relax & enjoy the many wonders of the Park.

Roadtrip Essentials:

CAMERA & TORCH

Regardless of the space it takes up, packing a camera & a mini torch with you is essential for all adventures.

WATER BOTTLE

A reusable water bottle is a must! Freeze it the night before for an extra cold refreshment.

WATERPROOF JACKET

You never know when the sun will hide behind the clouds, opening up to a full-blown thunderstorm. It's better to be over-prepared for any last-minute weather changes.

SUNSCREEN & HAT

Sunscreen is a non-negotiable packing item. Trust me - bring it along!

UTILITY KNIFE

For all those unexpected packaging blunders, run-ins with wildlife, it doesn't hurt to have a utility knife with you at all times. Remember to pack it in your check in luggage!
